Celebrating the Success of Our Previous Publication: "Indian Responses to 21st Century African Women’s Writing"

 We are thrilled to reflect on the success of our previous publication, "Indian Responses to 21st Century African Women’s Writing." This work represents the incredible efforts of Indian scholars who have collaborated to deliver a nuanced and insightful analysis of African women's writing in the 21st century. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the contributors. 

Looking ahead, we invite original, scholarly contributions for the upcoming edited book titled "Creative Disruption: Impact of AI on English Language and Literature Studies." This volume seeks to explore the profound ways Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the fields of English literature and language, including teaching, learning, literary analysis, syllabi framing, and creative writing.

There are no fees for the submission or publication. We aim to collaborate with a reputed academic publisher of national/international level for this volume. We look forward to your contributions and the opportunity to explore how AI is reshaping the study and understanding of English literature and language.




About the Contributors

Dr Ratika Kaushik holds a Ph. D from University of Sussex in the field of postcolonial cultures. She completed her Masters in comparative literature from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London after doing her undergraduate studies from University of Delhi. She is currently focused on research in the field of postcolonial cultures and gender studies. Her specialization includes diasporic studies, migrant narratives, and the intersection of gender and nationalism. She is currently working at NIIT, Neemrana as an Assistant professor in the Humanities Department.


Dr. Reetika Srivastava is presently Working as an Assistant Professor, Department of English,   Government Girls Post Graduate College Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, Vikrama University, Ujjain. She has Teaching Experience of 6 years. She excelled in her academics and won several prestigious awards for excellence in her academics. She has graduated from University of Lucknow. Qualified  UGC-NET four times. She worked as an Assistant Professor, P.G. Department of English Maharaja College, Ara for a year before joining her present position. She has presented papers in several International and National Conferences. Her research papers have been published in International and National peer reviewed Journals.


Dr. Vandana Singh is presently working as Assistant Professor and Head, P.G Department of English, Maharaja College Ara, Bhojpur Bihar. She has 20 years of Teaching experience and 24 years of research experience. She has been invited as Resource Person to several industrial workshops as well as Academic Workshops and seminars at reputed Institutions and organisations. She has presented and published papers in International Conferences and Seminars. Her paper titled “Intrinsic and Inextricable Linkages of Language and Culture- Investing in Cultural Diversity for Sustainable Development” has been published in International peer reviewed Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, USA recently. She has also been invited for lecture-tours on Diasporic Literature, Postcolonial Literature, Black Literature at different institutions. She has been working incessantly for the upgradation of economically backward children.   


Dr. Swati Bhattacharya, had been a Faculty member of Government College of Art and Craft, Calcutta, since 1985. She has retired as Associate Professor, in Language and Literature and enjoys working as an independent researcher, writer, and translator, based in Kolkata. With a Master degree in Comparative Literature, she did her Ph.D. in African and Caribbean literature from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. She has been lecturing on various aspects of African literature, along with Indian Art and Aesthetics in prestigious institutions and has presented papers in a number of National and International seminars /webinars as an invited speaker. During her long academic career, she has worked as a Guest Faculty in The Department of English, in West Bengal State University, Rabindra Bharati University, Aliah University, in West Bengal. She has been a prolific writer on literature, visual-art, and aesthetics, and has published extensively both in English and Bengali, in various national and international journals. She has contributed chapters and translated stories in different books; and has guided numerous students and scholars in their Masters, Ph.D., and Post-Doctoral Thesis. As a thorough academician and an ever-ready mentor, Dr. Bhattacharya is at present working on two collections of her essays on Art and Literature.


Dr. Manjinder Kaur Wratch is presently working as Zonal Head Academics & Research at Touchstone Educationals LLP, Chandigarh. Touchstone Educationals LLP is the biggest and the best Language Learning Program Institute of India from the last 24 years with 61+ elite campuses across 41+cities. Dr. Wratch is engaged in devising new methodologies to be implemented for excellence in teaching, learning and research in the field of English Language Learning Programs. She has earlier served as Assistant Professor English at various prestigious universities of the country namely Amity University Mohali, UIPS- Panjab University, Chandigarh and MBSCET- University of Jammu. She is the recipient of Maulana Azad National Fellowship by UGC & MHRD. Dr. Wratch has published more than 50 research papers in anthologies and UGC CARE List Journals and has also authored three books on English Literature which have received stellar reviews and have been amply cited by scholars. Her study areas include Literary Criticism, Film Studies, Indian Writing in English and Translation, Conflict Literature, Animal Studies, Green Studies, Diasporic and Exile Literature. She has also supervised the Ph.D. Thesis of Scholars of English Literature. She has chaired technical sessions and has been a Panelist at various conferences and a Resource Person at courses conducted by reputed institutes of the country.


Dr. Sabahat Rasool is a Doctorate in English Literature and an Independent Researcher.  She has done her Ph.D. Thesis on the literary works of Afro-American writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie under the supervision of Dr. Manjinder Kaur Wratch.  She’s a passionate reader and a researcher and has published a book and many research papers in reputed English Literature Journals.


Dr. Amol Dapkekar is currently working in Thakur College of Engineering and Technology (TCET) as an Assistant Professor in Engineering Sciences and Humanities Department. In addition, he is also the Training Coordinator working in TCET’s Training and Placement Cell. He has been in the teaching and training field for more than one and half decades. Along with teaching, he is also a certified soft skills trainer and facilitator from renowned training agencies. He has expertise in Self Development, Team and Leadership Development. He has trained many students and employees of different organisations. Academically, he has completed his Masters in English Language and Literature, Bachelors in Education and Ph.D. from University of Mumbai. Many papers in the related fields are published by him in national and international journals and conferences.


Mrs. Asha Manorah Jenefer is an aspiring scholar at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram, Chennai. With a strong passion for knowledge and a deep commitment to academic pursuits, she is determined to make a significant impact in the fields of diaspora and women studies. Asha brings to her research a wealth of experience, having spent four years honing her teaching expertise. Asha’s primary focus lies in understanding and addressing psychological distress among women. Her keen interest in this area has driven her to delve into the intricacies of women’s experiences, highlighting the challenges they face and the potential solutions to mitigate their distress. Through her scholarly investigations, she aims to contribute to the broader understanding of women’s mental health and empowerment. Recognized for her valuable contributions, Asha has published numerous articles in esteemed journals such as Scopus, Web of Science (WOS), and UGC CARE. Her research findings have shed light on various aspects of women’s psychological well-being, providing valuable insights to fellow scholars and practitioners alike. Her dedication and rigor have earned her the reputation of a young researcher who consistently pushes the boundaries of her research area. As Asha Manorah Jenefer A continues to board the research journey to the maximum, she remains committed to expanding her knowledge, refining her methodologies, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of women. With her unwavering determination and scholarly pursuits, Asha is poised to become a leading figure in the field of diaspora and women studies, leaving an indelible mark on academia and beyond.


Dr P. K. Gomathi is an Assistant Professor of English in Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram, Tamil Nadu. She has 22 years of teaching experience. She has been invited as the resource person for UGC Sponsored Conferences, Seminars and Faculty Development Programmes of renowned institutions. She has given many lectures on Comparative Literature, Translation and Indian Writing in English. Her area of specialization is Comparative Literature and Translation.


Dr. Padumi Singha has been working as an Assistant Professor in the P.G. Department of English, Bongaigaon College, Assam for over 14 years. She completed her Masters from Fergusson College and her M.Phil from University of Pune, Maharashtra. She did her Ph.D. from NEHU, Shillong. Her specialization and research is associated with postcolonial literature. Her area of interest includes poetry and critical theory. She has published an anthology of poetry. 


Dr. Zeba Siddiqui is an Assistant Professor of Department of English, VIVA College, Mumbai. She has 4 years of Teaching experience. She has published one Book entitled ‘Environmental Culture and Ecofeminism is Selected Indian Women’s Novels’. She has participated and presented papers in almost 25 National and international conferences. 12 papers are published in UGC care review and Peer reviewed journals. She has contributed a chapter in an edited book titled 'Contemporary Indian Novelists in English an overview' She has received Appreciation Certificate for transcribing 3-4 qualitative interviews for a Ph.D. candidate for her Doctoral Research in School of Geography, Development & Environment, The University of Arizona, USA. She has received Appreciation Certificate and Memento for participating in India’s first Regional Showcase of the Global Migration Film Festival hosted in collaboration with IOM Indonesia and the American Centre. She has been Appointed as a Course Writer for Preparing Self Learning Material (SLM) in the course of English for TYBA and MA English. She has been invited as the judge for many events in different colleges. She has been the paper setter for the subjects English, Business Communication, and Journalism in IDOL, University of Mumbai. Appointed as E-Content Creator, for F.Y. BCom and SYBA. (Subject-Business Communication and Communication skills in English), Institute of Distance and Open Learning University of Mumbai. Certificate of Publication for being a co-author of the poem titled ‘The Beauty and the Serenity of Sky’ of the anthology ‘The Shades of Rainbow’ published by ‘The Wordings’
